Demographic and Pyschographic Profiling

Primary and Secondary Audiences

The term primary audience is used to describe the main audience(s) that we anticipate a product will be aimed at. For example, the primary audience for a Disney film such as Frozen is likely to be young females.

The term secondary audience is used to describe another audience who are likely to be interested in the product but not necessarily the audience that you are desperately trying to attract. For example, the secondary audience for a Disney film such as Frozen is likely to be parents of young children, young males and also older children and adults who have grown up with and been fond of Disney.
